Cannabis Community gets lit for a pandemic 420 party!

If there is one thing for certain it is that the Cannabis Community has grit. Having faced nearly a century of prosecution, the Cannabis Community is emerging triumphantly from years of prohibition. If we can overcome such hardship and still manage a giggle, no pandemic is going to stand in the way of celebrating our high holiday—April 20th. To be sure, asking a community of pot-smoking, peace-loving individuals to stay home is not a huge stretch of the imagination. As long as we have weed, food and a comfy couch, we’re good. That’s not to say that the Cannabis Community doesn’t delight in coming together and passing a joint ‘round. Free spirits, activists and ganga entrepreneurs love a good festival and that sense of camaraderie and belonging that comes with it. But with all festivals cancelled or postponed for the foreseeable future, what is a bunch of heads to do on the highest of all holidays? The Cannabis Community is going to do exactly what it has always done: Adapt and get lit!

In the true spirit of community, the National Cannabis Festival and The Emerald Cup are joining forces to throw a 420 party like none ever. The Highstream 420 Festival is a coast-to-coast online gathering benefiting COVID-19 charities with a star-studded line up and plenty of activities to make this pandemic 420 one to celebrate.

Featuring Melissa Etheridge, Disco Biscuits, The Pharcyde and Chali 2na as musical headliners, the Highstream 420 Festival also includes workshops, celebrity interviews, policy discussions, cooking classes and cultivation workshops. The Festival is a free online experience hosted by NUGS.TV and kicks off at 4 pm EDT. Donations are encouraged to the following charities that are supporting COVID-19 relief: Crew Nation, Drug Policy Alliance and Americans For Safe Access.

A little about the organizations:

Crew Nation

Providing global relief for live music crews furloughed during social distancing efforts. Live Nation is matching up to $5 million in donations to the Crew Nation fund.

Drug Policy Alliance

Taking immediate action to protect the health and well-being of those most at risk during COVID-19 including those suffering from drug addiction, incarceration, homelessness, or in immigrant detention.

Americans For Safe Access

Ensuring medical cannabis businesses and dispensaries remain open as “essential” businesses for patients during COVID-19.

This April 20th join the Highstream 420 Festival for a nightlong cannabis celebration and help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by donating generously. We’ll see you there!
